Introduced for the 2018 Wrangler, Chrysler’s entry into the gas direct injected engine (GDI) world has now taken the lead as engine’s used in Jeep Wranglers, Cherokees (2.0L) and Renegades (1.3L). Also, now available in the Grand Cherokee with the 2022 model year. As well as Alpha Romeo models.
This is an introduction to several of the highlights of the 2.0Liter (gas direct injected) GDI engine. Topics for this course include: GDI components overview, high pressure fuel pump and (Fuel Quantity Solenoid) FQS description, operation and service, use of the new EVAP system vent valve.
