Electrical Fundamentals Hands-On Workshop

Course Description: Looking to get your entry-level and novice techs familiar with the fundamentals of electrical system diagnostics? AVI’s 8-hour hands-on level Electrical training is a great place to start. Participants will learn essential skills and concepts using our e-trainer boards. They will apply concepts including circuit types, Ohm’s law, and voltage drop testing as identifying primary components used on most vehicles today. This training is a great launching point for engaging your team in learning that will benefit the productivity of your shop!

Course Objectives:

  • Recognize the Personal Protection Equipment needed and understand the correct procedures and applications.
  • Familiarity with your multimeter; identify all of its different functions.
  • Read and interpret Schematic Diagrams
  • Perform real-world testing and learn what the results mean.
  • Perform voltage drop testing and open circuit resistance testing.
  • Become familiar with Ohm’s Law and use it to solve shorts to ground.
  • Understand basic electrical theories.
