LBT-456 NOx NOx, Who’s There? Controlling NOx and Hydrocarbons

$129.95

This Emission Systems course will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the operation and control of systems used to help control tailpipe emissions.  The regulation of NOx formation has led to a variety of methods for improving tailpipe emissions.  How the EGR system lowers NOx production as well as EGR system monitoring, control and cooling will be discussed.  We will examine the use of variable cam timing to eliminate the need for an EGR valve and how cam overlap is controlled and monitored to lower NOx.  Also covered will be the purpose and operation of the PCV system through both natural aspiration as well as forced induction.
