Description
This course provides a practical overview of automotive air conditioning systems, focusing on how compressors, condensers, hoses, and related components work together to remove heat. Participants will review common failure points, proper replacement practices, and why complete system repairs—including kits and service kits—are critical for long-term success. The session also highlights AC program offerings, inventory solutions, and sales opportunities for the AC selling season, including hybrid and EV coverage.
The learning objectives for this class are:
-
Understand the function of major AC system components, including compressors, condensers, expansion devices, hoses, and airflow controls, and how they interact within TXV and orifice tube systems.
-
Identify best practices for successful AC compressor replacement, including when to flush versus replace components and the importance of correct oil, refrigerant charge, and airflow.
-
Apply knowledge of complete AC kits, service kits, hoses, hybrid/EV components, and sales support tools to maximize repair success, reduce comebacks, and increase sales during AC selling season.
