Antifreeze or coolant has been around our industry for a very long time. Ever since the engine manufacturers went to liquid cooling, there has been a need for an additive. This additive is used with water to increase the fluids ability to carry heat from the engine to the radiator where it can be dissipated into the atmosphere.
