Chris Womock

Chris Womock has over 27 years’ experience in the fire service, with the last 23 serving with the Indianapolis Indiana Fire Department where he had the opportunity to experience firsthand many of the situations and techniques taught in AVI classes, including incidents involving electric and gaseous fueled vehicles. Chris is currently the Lieutenant on one of Indianapolis’ busiest engines, responding to an average of 3,000 runs per year. Chris has also served in Indianapolis’ Special Ops Division as a Captain in charge of the Extrication and Urban Search and Rescue Division. He also has experience in large scale Urban Command control working with local and federal agencies.

In addition to Chris’ extensive experience in the fire service, he also has spent the last five years teaching alternative fuel vehicle safety training classes for the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium, a program of West Virginia University, where he worked closely with many industry groups, including US Department of Energy Clean Cities Program.
